The Speedtek Auto Racing R-Series Dog Engagement Gearset stands in a league of its own.

This gearset represents a major step forward in transmission performance and long-term reliability.

We are the first company to completely reverse-engineer and model the entire R154 transmission in CAD, redesigning every component specifically for motorsport use.

At Speedtek Auto Racing, quality and precision come first. Our gearsets are manufactured from high-grade forged billet materials and machined to extremely tight tolerances, delivering exceptional strength, durability, and performance under the most demanding conditions.

Unlike many alternatives that rely on raw billet, we predominantly use forged components. Forging produces a significantly higher material density, resulting in a noticeably stronger and more resilient gear. To justify the investment in forgings, we commit to manufacturing a minimum of 200 units per component, this level of production that gives us a clear advantage over our competitors and allows us to deliver a superior product to our customers.

We supply a complete, ready-to-install kit, including all forward and reverse gears, dog rings, hubs, shift forks, countershaft, and all supporting components required for correct operation. This also includes our custom extra-wide proprietary first-gear thrust washer, designed specifically to handle increased load and durability.

All gears are fully removable, allowing for straightforward servicing and long-term maintenance. We also offer countershafts to suit all R-Series transmissions, covering early 1980s models through to the latest R-Series units found in modern vehicles.

What truly sets this gearset apart is the integration of large internal K-Series needle bearings in 2nd, 3rd, and 5th gears. These bearings are custom-manufactured and supplied exclusively in our kit, as they are not available off the shelf. In addition, we have engineered dedicated oil feed ports and oil relief channels for each gear, ensuring consistent lubrication and effective heat management under extreme loads.

This level of engineering precision is unprecedented in R-Series dog engagement gearsets. The complexity, accuracy, and manufacturing control required have traditionally been beyond the reach of most manufacturers.
