This is a premium material that is suitable for the most severe applications & has great flexing/twisting capabilities without failing.
When a shaft is subjected to a torque or twisting, a shearing stress is produced in the shaft, the material we use is capable of high stress loads.
After manufacturing the Shafts, they are then sent off for a Nitriding treatment.
What is Nitriding? A heat-treating process that diffuses nitrogen into the surface of a metal to create a case-hardened surface. These processes are most commonly used on low-carbon, low-alloy steels. They are also used on medium and high-carbon steels, titanium, aluminium and molybdenum.
We now offer Isotropic Superfinishing on all our Speedtek Products.
(This process will increase the time from when we could dispatch the kit, please email us if you have any questions)
Superfinishing is a metalworking process that improves surface finish and workpiece geometry. This is achieved by removing just the thin amorphous surface layer left by the last process with an abrasive stone to grind the gears and other parts ; this layer is usually about 1 μm in magnitude. Superfinishing, unlike polishing which produces a mirror finish, creates a cross-hatch pattern on the workpiece.
Advantages of superfinishing include increasing part life, decreasing wear, closer tolerances, higher load bearing surfaces, better sealing capabilities, and elimination of a break in period.
Designed and machined by Speedtek Auto Racing.

If a product is marked as “Out of Stock” or “In Development”, please email us to enquire about the estimated lead time, as timeframes vary depending on the product.
Lead times vary depending on the product, its size and complexity. For example, a gearbox may have an estimated lead time of 3–4 months, while a bearing kit may take approximately 1–2 weeks. These timeframes are indicative only, and our team can confirm the estimated lead time for your specific product. |
